San Antonio International Airport has an in-house US Customs Federal Inspection Station inside terminal 1 which allows for non-stop air travel between major cities in Mexico and San Antonio. Nearly 2/3 of all goods moving between the United States and Mexico travel through San Antonio. The proximity of San Antonio to Mexico, Central and South America, and implementation of NAFTA make San Antonio’s 12 Foreign Trade Zone sites, including two at San Antonio International, vital tools for international trade. SAT is a point of entry for private aircraft arriving internationally. A $600 million capital improvement program is underway. |
